The medications that are used in major depression treatment are called antidepressants. Today there are a lot of antidepressants that are still used. Being of effective of medications generally takes time.

  • Maprotiline 75-200 mg

Monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors

  • 6-12 mg of selegiline
  • C isocarboxazid 10-60 mg
  • Phenelzine c 45-90 mg
  • Tranylcypromine 10-30 mg

— Because SSSRI’S tolerance is easier,it is preferred in first line.

— For most of ill people, nortriptyline, bupropion, and venlafaxine are the appropriate choices

— MMO inhibitors have serious side effects and dietary restrictions. When any of the treatment don’t be useful, ıt could be used.

— After the pharmacological treatment starts, If there is no response in the 6-8 week,ill must be send to mental health center.

— Old people mustn’t take amitriptyline, imipramine, and doxepin because they have cardiotoxic effects.
